Ted Fick
was recruited by the Port of Seattle in 2014 to take on an immense
responsibility – to not only manage the operation of the third largest seaport
in the United States, but also to provide the leadership and direction the Port
needed to become a truly competitive, profitable and sustainable economic
enterprise for years to come.
Under Ted Fick’s leadership, the Port not only experienced the highest rate of
profitability in its century-old history, it also secured a historic 15-year
lease for cruise operations (which generated more than $2 billion in revenue);
secured $2 billion in funding for SeaTac Airport capital projects; saved $152
million in interest due to the renegotiation of corporate revenue bonds; and
experienced 22-25% reduction in workplace injuries throughout the organization.
Ted Fick
served as the Port’s Chief Executive Officer of the $600 million government
agency until 2017.
