Ted Fick: Balancing Fitness with a Career

It’s not a choice between your career OR fitness, it’s a choice to balance your career WITH fitness. Today’s top leaders maintain this balance, and you can too. Take Ted Fick, for example. Mr. Fick is a busy executive who’s traveling 75% of the time, but he’s also an Ironman competitor who has completed dozens of marathons, half marathons and triathlons since running his first race in 2006. He’s one of many examples of balancing fitness with a career, and it’s not by luck.

In fact, many leaders believe that fitness is an integral part of maintaining a successful career. Training on a regular basis can improve your mental function, give you more energy, improve your immune system and help you feel confident. It also increases your self-discipline and your ability to prioritize your life. Start by evaluating your daily schedule, paying attention to areas where you could free up time and make your health a priority. According to Ted Fick, Look for opportunities to train more, take better care of yourself and lead a more fulfilling life, and don’t stop! It’s a continuous practice to maintain this work/life balance, but the rewards are more than worth your efforts.
